The Red lemon

The red lemon represents a variation of the yellow lemon: compared to the genetic "cousin", the red lemon jumps to the eye for the bright color of the skin, which can be fiery red, or orange. The red lemon also has the pulp of this color, but the taste is slightly more sour than the more well-known lemon. The ripe lemon of this variety has a very thick peel with a drop-shaped, almost elongated shape. The plant produces few fruits compared to the classic lemon in its varieties.

Keep away from frost and asphyxiated or alkaline soils. Tree of medium vigor, sometimes spinescent and with an upright posture. The leaves are medium-large, pointed and green in color. The flowers are white, with a very intense aroma, similar to that of orange.

In a sheltered place it can withstand temperatures close to 0 ° C for very short periods. Cold and low temperatures are not ideal for it, so it's better to keep it safe during winter.
